    Snopes and the truth

I have to say I'm shocked at this article by Snopes. Shocked because it actually has legit info in it and is laid out without any bias. Leaving the link cold. Just replace the ** with tt

The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Well, I would not say it is totally without bias, tying it to so-called "mass shootings" which have become "disturbingly regular occurrence" -- done in order to put an emotional bias against it.

Doesn't "AR" just stand for "ARmalite," not "Armalite Rifle?" Considering the AR-17 was a shotgun, it would've been stupid to name it the "Armalite Rifle-17."

This is correct. It just means Armalite.
Not “Armalite Rifle”, “Assault Rifle”, “Army Rifle” nor “Automatic Rifle”
