Lexington and Concord-- required reading for today's freedom loving American

I ran across this and could not stop reading it. Written seventy-five years after the America Revolution (but this was book published in 1873), it is an exciting account of the months and days leading up to April 19th, 1775 when the fighting started-- after the British dispatched troops to disarm the colonists. The heroism and resolve are inspiring, and given this week's "hell yes we're going to take your AR15's and AK47's" comments by a 2-bit pseudo politician, some good lessons are here for the learning by those who cherish American freedoms and also, by those bent on destroying all our hard-won liberties.

I'd be giving young kids "Johnny Tremain" books to read. Get 'em in the RIGHT frame of mind, from a young age!

To me, this is the greatest part of the Project Appleseed shooting program. The shooting instruction is good, but the history lesson about April 19th, 1775 for the kids (and most adults) is even better.
