So really, it's just about cutting the excess and the little you get in other foods will be a proper amount...(25 grams for women, 36 for men)
Per serving or per day? If the latter, you're into VLCD/keto territory and that's a whole other animal and discussion. If per serving, that's a lot of sugar (vs say carbohydrates from any source) still, especially if it's multiple times per day, unless you're also very physically active.

Limiting sugar is always a good idea, and a simple way to lower cals, but it's still energy in/energy out equation that matters most to lose the fat.

25 per day is AHA’s recommendation.

If from AHA, must be sugar vs total carbs they don't promote keto diets. 25g daily of sugar, in addition to total carbs, is still on the high end in my view. Here's good visual: a level t spoon is approx 5 grams. Dump 5 of those into a glass and look at it.

When I do a seminar for newbies, I read the sugar content of a can of Soda, which usually contains 40g of sugar. When they physically see how much sugar that actually is vai the level t spoon dumped into a glass 8 x, it change their POV quite a bit...

Besides wanting to drop a few lbs, how's your blood sugar and A1C levels?

I don't add sugar to anything, read labels for added sugar, drink a diet ice tea and such to keep sugar to a minimum and pick my spots to enjoy some sugar, like quality dark chocolate after dinner, a homemade slice or 6 of pie, etc.

Added sugar is a good place to reduce empty cals if one if trying to lose some weight.
It's a bit of a joke...I know I can go 24 hours without practically everything but air (in fact, when I fast anything: Facebook, Alcohol, etc, I usually do 21-40 days.) but it is obvious that I don't REALLY want to cut it...

I hit 25 grams by 9am since 1 TBSP of creamer is in every cup of coffee plus 2 TBSP's of Cashew Milk (which has no sugar) and then my yogurt.

I probably average 65 grams a day. Probably top at 80-90. It's just a bad habit and my comfort food.

All my lab work has been excellent through the years.

Getting down to 25grams would be a great step for me. Then down from there.

Congrats! Make sure to wring out a prize worthy of the cost... Sounds like a day for achievements all around, I had a morning low of 215lbs.--so have an extra for me too while I'm stuck sucking down protein-shakes.
You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.
