LOL, not even close. My BCM 14.5" is on top of an A5 with a A5H3 and Sprinco green spring, it runs everything I feed it, including Wold Gold and PMC Bronze an did so this past weekend for two days without a single malfunction.

The A5 system broadens the range of operation, not decreases it.

Agree, 14.5 MID and A5 is a great combination.

It all depends on gas port size vs buffer weight.

The A5H0 with a small port runs great and the A5H2 with a little larger port runs great too.

The 16" MPR medium profile barrel with pinned gas block should work nicely.
    Much appreciated, thanx!

Slightly different animal from my OP, but some recommended going AR pistol option. I was looking at the lmt mlc pistol for approx 2k. What comparable for similar or less $ or is the LMT a sweet spot in quality for $? Store by me has one.

The LMT is great but if you wanted to save some cash look into Sionics 11.5 upper. They have blem pistol complete lowers with kak blade for 259.99. even if you bought a SB 3 or other better brace you would still be at under half the LMT.

I can vouch for the Sionics 11.5". It's no lightweight, but it runs well.

If I wanted a general purpose AR15 rifle for when the feces has been redistributed through centrifugal forces, here’s what I’d do:

    The upper:
    -13.7” SOLGW mid-length barrel
    -pinned/welded Surefire Warcomp, perhaps closed-tined
    -Vltor gas block, pinned
    -Vltor MUR upper receiver
    -Geissele MK14 Rail, 13”
    -BCM BCG
    -BCM Gunfighter CH, Mod 4
    -Magpul MBUS Pro sights

    The lower:
    -Aero Precision lower, forged
    -Bravo Company lower parts kit
    -SSA-E trigger
-Geissele buffet, Super 42 spring kit
-BCM end plate with QD flush cup
    -VLTOR receiver extension, properly torqued/staked
    -Magpul CTR stock

    Optics:
-Vortex Razor HD 1-6x with mil reticle
    -Bobro Mount

    Accessories:
    -VTAC sling
    -Modlight PLH

If I wanted a general purpose AR15 pistol for when the feces has been redistributed through centrifugal forces, here’s what I’d do:

    The upper:
    -12.5” BCM barrel
    -Surefire Warcomp, perhaps closed-tined
    -Vltor gas block, pinned
    -Vltor MUR upper receiver
    -Geissele MK14 Rail, 9”
    -BCM BCG
    -BCM Gunfighter CH, Mod 4
    -Magpul MBUS Pro sights

    The lower:
    -Aero Precision lower, forged
    -Bravo Company lower parts kit
    -SSA-E trigger
-Geissele buffer, Super 42 spring kit
-BCM end plate with QD flush cup
    -VLTOR receiver extension, properly torqued/staked
    -SBA3 Brace
    -Law Tactical folder assembly

    Optics:
    -Aimpoint M5, 2 MOA
    -Bobro Mount

    Accessories:
    -VTAC sling
    -Modlight OKW

I realize these two builds may be more expensive than outlines budget, however, I believe these offer excellent value without making extensive compromises. The performance to expense ratio would be excellent.

I have become a bit of a LMT fanboy. However... Their barrels are heavy, and overall I don’t think the benefit/value ratio is there for complete monolithic rifles. That’s just my opinion. They seem incredibly nice, and the barrel should last a very long time.
