I took the can off a few times during our shoot just to check it out and see if there was any lock up/seize with the mount system. Can comes off fine and the big collar is easy to unscrew when the can is warm/hot.
Pretty cool review. Thanks. People who own KAC cans really do seem to like them.

This the MD we’re talking about? I go back and forth on KAC vs Surefire cans almost every day otherwise I would’ve already replaced it with either a WarComp or MAMS.

When I ran the NF on 1 power and ran some racks the gun didnt budge. It just smoked through them.

KAC is the answer to the question you’re asking yourself daily. I don’t know your hobby/money situation, but the CQB version of the 762 QDC is great too. KAC makes 5/8x24 and 1/2x28 versions of the short, closed end flash suppressor that serve as excellent hosts. The QDC mounting is excellent. I use that can on several hosts. I greatly prefer it over SF.

I have 3 gen 1 mams, are these things collectible yet?

Jack, can you quantify performance improvements gen 2 over gen 1?

In other words is it worth swapping out the gen 1 to the collectors for current gen 2s?

The design was changed when we discovered that pushing multiple magazines of full auto with a short barrel would cause the ported area to distort.
The revision corrected that issue, making the device stronger.
There is no difference to recoil reduction between the two versions.

    New or used?

Thank you Jack, not worth the headache then.

Reviving this as I'm probably a few days away from buying a QDC can. I already submitted the paperwork for a trust so I'm just waiting on it to come back and wondering if the new KAC cans are coming out in the meantime.

That being said, I know some breaks serve as a sacrificial baffle for the suppressor which reduces wear and can save it in the case of a baffle strike. Does the MAMS do that? Or is that only breaks that are designed more like the surefire?

Also, anyone ever run the MAMS on a 10.3? Its somewhat flashy on my 14.5, I'm curious how much of a thumping flame thrower it'd be on the MK18.
