Precisely. The kabuki-theater elected/appointed puppets come and go, but the Bureaucracy and its component life-tenure bureaucrats are forever. Sorta like how Congress really works too, and why term limits won't do jackshit there unless you cap staffer service-time too.

    What McConnel should have done:

The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Remember, they never planned on Trump releasing the transcript, and they are so stuck to the story that they are still acting like it hasn't been released.

If not for releasing the actual facts, all we would have is the hearsay and hearsay-hearsay and that Guiliani's 'guys' are indicted...

Now Parnas is back with the Trump-Pence-Barr storyline, the Deep State swinging for the fences.
What, you don't think parallel construction ended just because Obama left office do you? The DoJ's conviction rate isn't so unbelievable because they're just that good. It's unbelievable because they're just that good at cheating. It didn't stop because Trump fired a few people and put Barr in charge. It continues to run like the well greased machine it is. It exists to protect the machine itself. Nothing a mere president could do is ever going to change that.

Well to be fair the government always holds the bigger hand of leverage in any criminal investigative process. Plus federal prosecutors are lazy and only want to take cases they can win easily.

    Yep. Especially MooCowski

Collins thought her performance was well received at the SCOTUS hearings so she apparently thinks she can play it again. There is always a couple of real ***holes that have to play that game.

You have to wonder if House Democrats are wondering if it's worth the risk...

An Iranian lawmaker apparently has placed a $3 million bounty on President Trump’s head.

Ahmad Hamzeh made the declaration Tuesday during a speech to parliament in Tehran, although it’s unclear whether it has any backing from Iran’s top leaders, Reuters reported, citing the ISNA news agency.

“On behalf of the people of Kerman province, we will pay a $3 million reward in cash to whoever kills Trump,” Hamzeh was quoted as saying.

Then I'd say it'd be appropriate to respond in kind. Who else would chip in on a GoFundMe-type thing for the scalps of Hamzeh and Khamenei?

Isn’t that a declaration of war? I mean we’ve been at war since 1979, but wouldn’t that put it official so Congress would have to vote on it? And we could invoke Article 5 and make NATO put up or shut up?
