The Federalist Papers are often cited, but regardless, not a one of them really speaks to how a State removes itself or whether they can.

Thanks, I enjoyed reading your post, food for thought.
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President... - Theodore Roosevelt, Lincoln and Free Speech, Metropolitan Magazine, Volume 47, Number 6, May 1918.

Every Communist must grasp the truth. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party Mao Zedong, 6 November, 1938 - speech to the Communist Patry of China's sixth Central Committee

An additional point that I find interesting is the notion that only the 13 original colonies (and Texas?) chose to associate with each other, and arguably could choose to dissociate from each other.

However, the federal treasury paid for the Louisiana Purchase/Alaska/et al, and then divided that land into states. Arguably, they cannot leave the federal union.

The need to keep Murkowski in line.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

No argument from me. I wish I had another candidate that we could send, but the alternative that ran against her last time was on par with Hillary. In Alaska we're stuck. I personally know a bunch of top contenders that could beat her in a primary and do a good job, but none of them want to commit to a life in Washington.

I will say the Mitch should have kept his trap shut. Announcing he was cooperating with the executive branch was un-needed and unwise in the current political environment. Lisa wouldn't have flapped her lips if Mitch hadn't flapped his. I have no love for either of them.

The two of them should be handcuffed together and exiled to some tiny little island with only each other and the local critters for company. St. Helena is too good.

I think secret service needs to give piglosi a visit. Sounds like a physical threat to me.
