It looks like the Republicans in the Senate are going to have to man up and save the republic...at least in the short run. Hope they're up to it. In the long run, the dems and the spies in the intelligence agencies are looking like a deadly political cancer. We may be heading to another dark age.

The issue is that these guys have basically an unimited budget. That is the problem. I'm not saying that we have to have a balanced budget every year, but something to keep the spending in check with some kind of vague ability to service the debt. When interest rates rise and all this low cost debt goes away, that is when the candle blows out and the darkness takes over. Right around when I retire. Which either sucks because I don't get to retire, or IJDGAF.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

That seems to be the play. Run as much in secret as fast as they can in the House and then just dump it into the Senate. So that the Senate DEm candidates get their first swipes at Trump? Do they think that they can then RIck ROll enough GOP senators?

Yeah... Pence is Establishment, which means we can expect him to take a dive like McShitstain, may he rest in piss, assuming the Dems don't impeach him too as they're already talking about. Either way, if Trump goes down a lot of folks I know here and at other sites are saying that's their "Game ON!" threshold...

"Game On"...its hard to imagine what that will ultimately look like. And I was hoping for a peaceful old age. Come on Republican senators...do what's right.

Well, as a historian my gut is saying the combined worst of Nam and ETO partisan/guerrilla warfare, block-by-block and house-to-house rather than the relatively clean lines-on-a-map and orderly formations on clear battlefields of the Civil War. What I *know* is Electric Boogaloo, if it happened, would alter *everybody's* lives for the worse for at least 2-3 generations--look at Former Yugoslavia, it's a quarter-century later and more than you'd expect of Sarajevo is still rubble and ruins.
