    Great posts. Honest and illuminating.
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President... - Theodore Roosevelt, Lincoln and Free Speech, Metropolitan Magazine, Volume 47, Number 6, May 1918.

Every Communist must grasp the truth. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. Our principle is that the Party commands the gun, and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party Mao Zedong, 6 November, 1938 - speech to the Communist Patry of China's sixth Central Committee

Look at all those posts in a row. Guess who's been without internet for three days.

Outside cable got broke, I patched it, no joy. When they came to fix it the old cable was leaking so much RF back into the system we had to redo the whole house. The Cox guy was pretty impressed that I only had to punch one hole in a ceiling to drag three lines to our three TV's. He really cleaned up the outside drop and the inside. I'm actually glad it happended, I'm good for another 30 years on the cable, and I hope at 95 I'll have better things to do than get on the internet.

Only crack pots or crackheads who have lost all manner of sensibility and whose moral compass is spinning like it’s in a Bermuda Triangle movie say such horrid things about Woodland. Pure heresy. Woodland is the One True Camouflage. One of the few things the Army of the 80’s got right. Then they followed suit with Coyote Brown in the 90’s (+/-), and all was right with the world.

Woodland is a knockoff of ERDL which is grossly underrated. The meanest, cruelest, most vicious dudes ever greatly reduced the Indochine population wearing ERDL.

Woodland is either peacetime AF or a fashion revolt against MC or MARPAT.

MC was cool when it was underground now everyone has it nobody likes it despite it really actually doing well pretty much anywhere.

I had to sweat and bleach my woodlands to try to cook white them enough to be "good" but still not there

I'd like to see you humanely shoot a pheasant, hungarian partridge, or duck on the wing with a 22.

Batman Begins was enjoyable. Dark Knight was OK, but overrated - it wouldn't have been the cultural icon that it was, if Heath Ledger hadn't committed suicide after it came out. The Dark Knight was also OK, but mostly in the sense of being mediocre.

And yet our children die in accidents. They get murdered. They develop incurable diseases (many of which they contract due to the wonderful chemicals we're putting into our food, air, and water) that slowly, painfully kill them. They get sent off to war, wars where we know that someone will lose their children - possibly all of their children or their only child - but we hope and pray, selfishly, that it won't be our children. Wars where even survival means that they will probably return damaged in body or soul. Children take their own lives.

Countless parents bury their children every year. They must truly hate how much time they put into loving and caring for their children, only for them to die before they themselves did. Not enough to stop sending their children to war, though.

Because, after all, people - like dogs - just die.

Or you could accept that you're only alive now. For now. And try to live the best life you can, now. Instead of focusing on a future that may never be or a past that cannot be altered. Love your children, your parents, your pets, your friends like you could die any moment - like they could die any moment; because y'all can. And eventually y'all will.

You make some really solid points.
