    I'm not saying that H&K isn't good.

But pretty much every talking point that was brought up to buy the Adams Arms guns was marketing copy used by H&K around the same time. Hell, even LAV got in on it on Tactical Impact or whatever his TV show was.

H&K wasn't advertising H&K quality, they were advertising, "Doesn't shit where it eats," and "Runs cleaner and cooler than DI," and so forth. And dudes lapped that up, but since H&K didn't include, you know, being H&K in their advertising, so dudes wanted pistons and didn't care if it was H&K. Thus Adams Arms.

Thing is that HK doesn’t need to advertise the HK quality. It is assumed and it is the most important part. the Adams Arms rifle missed what makes the 416 stand out entirely.

Another example is the Swiss 55x series. They are average from a design standpoint but made with the absolute best quality possible. When Sig Arms made them here on the cheap they were left with a mediocre rifle that didn’t sell because it was the quality that people wanted. Not a poorly built proprietary AK that looks exotic.

Piston, DI or whatever. Garbage in, garbage out. It’s that simple.

At first I thought the Sheriff wasn't giving the company a chance...

The sheriff warned the company: Give us a refund or inspect every rifle and put it in writing that they’re functional.
    ...
Company officials offered to inspect and test all of the rifles, but Gualtieri declined.
    From another article:

The sheriff’s office says Adams Arms had offered to inspect and test all of the rifles, but Gualtieri says at this point, he just wants a $300,000 refund.
    OK...

    But then there's this!

Jason East, the CEO of Adams Arms says the incidents cited by the sheriff were isolated and not necessarily their fault.

For example, East says, some of the early trigger issues were traced back to ammunition clips purchased after-market by deputies. Clips that were designed specifically to fit the Colt AR-15, not Adams Arms.

As for the weapon which didn’t fire, East said the issue was found to be with a part manufactured by an outside vendor. He says they took the weapon apart, were able to make a quick adjustment by essentially tightening a screw, and the weapon then worked correctly.
You go, Sheriff! I hope you guys get your money back.

“They’ve now turned to one of their other weapons suppliers, a company called Rock River, to replace the 300 weapons they’ve taken off the streets.”

    From your link.

They don’t learn a thing do they?
