No longer the case. LMT cans are optimized to run on their rifles without the need to swap out any other components. If running third party cans, a simple swap for an XH buffer will have your LMT running suppressed without issues if not using low back pressure cans. Keep in mind that the MWS is gassed that way to meet contractual requirements, but it doesn't have to be a deal breaker. My vote is for LMT. Combat proven, modularity and KAC DNA makes it an easy choice.
ETA: Why are you returning your DD bolt action?
