From memory the MPI was always done, the HPT appears to be a new(er) feature.

IIRC Toolcraft does not make bolts, they source them from other companies.

Toolcraft makes the carriers and Swan Machine make the bolts which are covered under the Toolcraft lifetime warranty. My question was about the MPI and HPT though.

Toolcraft will provide pretty much anything you want and agree that likely Primary Arms speced it out that way and it is a heck of a price but pretty much just price matching PSA.

How would you say it stacks up against a Microbest?

It is very possible Primary Arms specified HPT when they purchased the BCGs. It certainly does not mean all Toolcraft BCGs have HPT bolts.

    That's also a hell of a price from a retailer with a stand-up reputation.

They will give the customer what they want spec wise. The PA HPT ones must be newer.

The only Hpt/MPI branded toolcraft I knew of was the nitride and fancy coated ones sold through their retail arm, Cryptic Coatings

10% seems a bit high for mil supplier. I’m sure these companies cranking them out for $69.99 are not doing any further QC checks.

Also, I did send out the bcg, that I feel is faulty, to get inspected and diagnosed by a professional. Hopefully I’ll have an answer for everyone soon.
