    Ruger LCR Loaders?

I have some HKS loaders and they are a bit slow and clumsy.

But they are faster than the strip type loaders (Bianchi / Tuff Products)

Of course the strips are a LOT easier to carry.

Safariland doesn't make a loader that fits the LCR. I'd like to try one, though.

Has anyone tried any of the Safarilands in the LCR? I have the factory Hogue Tamer grip on mine. Have a .357 and .327 model. (Have strips and an HKS loader for the .327, too)

If the Safariland barely does or doesn't work with the LCR what could be done to make it work? Different grip or grip mod? Shorter cartridges? (Wadcutters, .38 short colt, etc)

Five stars work but I've broken two practicing quick dry fire reloads on a hard surface with the turn knob breaking off. But great for carry since they are so small.

The BEST and fastest is the SL Variant made in Germany. Hard as hens teeth to find, but if you are persistent, you can find one on fleabay eventually. Expensive,, but you really only need one for reload that is almost as fast as magazines.

I use truncates shape bullet loads for fastest reloads.

Ron3, I have an LCR and use the HKS loaders for a smith J frame. I tried the Safariland loader meant for the J frame and cannot get it to work at all. I have no experience with the five stars model.

    Thanks guys.

Looks like I'll stick with the HKS loaders and ammo-strips for now.

Jetloaders for the j frame will work unless you have crimson trace grips on it

Speed Beez works well on my LCR with Crimson Trace grip.

Thanks. I want to like the SpeedBeez but I saw a video where a guy demonstrated some fragility. Mainly the big spring pops off when they hit the ground or even a table.

Have you any problems like that?

Of course the speedbeez cost the most, too.

I haven't bought any yet but it looks like the 5-Star brand loaders are probably the best combination for ammo-retention and ease of concealed-carry for the LCR.

I seldom carry it but it's very nice when I do.

I think it would be a better use of my practice time to work on drawing a second gun instead of reloading the revolver.

Why don't Safariland speed loaders work in the LCR? Is it just a grip shape problem or something else?
