If you are looking for something in a dedicated suppressed role you might try these guys:

    http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/gm-m64-...ith-1-7-twist/ ($167.95)

A Pencil Profile design in a 11.5" package, this 5.56 NATO barrel is chrome lined and phosphate coated. The carbine length gas block is .624" diameter.

You can always enlarge a gas port, hard to shrink one. LOL

I freely admit I'm a GMB fanboi. They are an OEM supplier to numerous companies and I've had nothing but good luck with their barrels.

I have to say, though, the one Sionics barrel that I own is definitely a shooter. And by the time you add a decent gas block - I use the Geissele Carbon Steel sold by ALG Defense - you are in the Sionics price range.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Sedition, a Free Press and Personal Rule, The Kansas City Star, May 1918

    OP,

Check out this YouTube vid of a guy testing the ERGP 11.5 Sionics barrel.

He runs suppressed, unsuppressed and with various ammo types and buffer types.

Would give a good idea of performance with various set ups

I think thatís referring to a .624 vs .750 barrel diameter at the point of the gas block/port.
I would definitely be interested in finding out what the port size is.

Green Mountainís answer regarding port size:
    Hi,
GM-M64 has a gas port hole diameter of .080Ē.
    Thank you for your inquiry.

Another vote for the Sionics Extreme RGP barrel. I know you said suppressed 95% of the time and I canít imagine what the 5% non-suppressed would be needed for, but you must have your reasons. Iíd bit the bullet and just make it full time suppressed.

My Sionics ERGP 11.5 has been awesome. Obviously my setup is dedicated suppressed. Zero issues. I did test it without the can with 5.56 ammo and mine fully functioned but it was warm weather. Not sure if it would function in colder weather. Doesnít really matter to me, I bought it for and use it dedicated for a can.

    Call them and find out.

There's a 99% chance it's way too big for dedicated suppressed use.

There's only a handful of companies doing dedicated suppressor barrels.

And only one taking it to the next level...

I know. But the OP didnít want proprietary gas length.

For my part...when my direct thread suppressor gets in my hands... I will likely look for a way to pin to 16Ē. And BRT is at the top of a tentative list. But Iíll also want the lightest barrel possible. Right now, pencil or BA Hanson .625 (which I have) are both appealing.

Still voting for a chopped SOCOM over here. Add a 0.05xx port if needed.

I think itíd be nice if you could order a custom port imo but Iím not aware of anyone who will do it.

This really is a great option that a lot of people over look.

I bought a 11.5" FBI barrel (with the actual .070 port, not the Arms Unlimited version). I ended up using a .063 insert and it runs great with an H2 buffer suppressed, and also runs well in low temps unsuppressed. I think the SOCOM profile also helps with POI shift when going from suppressed to unsuppressed and vice versa.

The SIONICS does seem like a great turn key option though.

I've had great success with a BCM 11.5 BFH Barrel.

There are other options for sure. My only experience is with a BCM 11.5 w/ a can.
