I think it’d be nice if you could order a custom port imo but I’m not aware of anyone who will do it.

Let's say you pick up the 14.5 and then chop, thread, and target crown. Your in and around $350 with shipping. There are better options. For the weight and it to be a laser you could call V7 and get the port size you want. Or you barrel could lose a pound and you could go with the Sionics.

My experience with Sionics 11.5. It did not like Mk318; all the other ammo I shot was good.

The difference between standard profile 11.5 and lightweight profile is 6-8 ounces.

I'd prefer to have those ounces back in the barrel and use a light weight direct thread suppressor.

Even if the total weight is a few ounces higher, the heavy barrel/light suppressor combo will have better balance, stiffness and heat tolerance.

Right now, pencil or BA Hanson .625 (which I have) are both appealing.

I think the SOCOM profile also helps with POI shift when going from suppressed to unsuppressed and vice versa.

This is the direction I'm going. 11.5" Car+ gas, 25 degree taper with tapered direct-thread silencer.

That's encouraging as long as you aren't knee deep in mk318 … I hope to have 69gr Fed SMK if it does well.

Someone suggested asking what the gas port is on that Green Mountain 11.5” pencil profile barrel.

I emailed and heard back already:

    Hi,
GM-M64 has a gas port hole diameter of .080”.
    Thank you for your inquiry.

What if...one had both a lightweight barrel and a lightweight suppressor for one’s lightweight spouse?
