You're not going to build a more reliable rifle than a factory built KAC or Colt. If you want to do a home build with fancy feel-good extra special BCG coatings or "enhanced" parts, that's great. It's part of the AR hobby and I say do what makes you happy. But if your main concern is reliability then just buy a factory rifle from a reputable manufacturer and don't change out the operating parts. These companies have done extensive research and development and build their rifles to work reliably from the factory, you're not going to improve it by changing parts out.
