New "retro" OEG sight coming from Armson

I went on the Armson page and was looking at OEGs since it's been years and I was wondering what the closest they offer to a singlepoint for my GAU-5/A/A clone. What did I see but:

"Currently unavailable. Look for our new round-body "Retro" OEG coming in November 2019!"

    And I am interested....
I did not know there was still some boutique manufacture.

Outwardly, it looks rather strange, I did not use it. What is his advantage over other sights?

I believe it was the first of the type.

Oh God, I actually used one of those a lifetime ago.

Amazingly they worked to a couple hundred yds.

This is the "retro" subforum. Advantages are not a consideration here.

Your dominant eye saw only a Dot on a black background.
Your other eye acquired the target.
Your brain did the rest; superimposing the dot on the target.
It was not exceptionally accurate, but C zone hits were doable to 200 yds., assuming your weak eye could make out the target.

We put one on a shotgun and it worked well- where you focused on the target and not the dot.

I used one on a paintball gun ages ago. No lenses to get dirty. Still have it actually although mine was just a fiber optic. The tritium and fiber optic should be brighter in lower light.

They’re right here in Maine, are they the original manufacturer? I remember seeing those in small ads on SP1’s as a kid and thought they looked pretty high speed back then.
