Gabbard Abruptly Decides To Drop House Reelection Bid, Arousing Suspicion

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/t...reelection-bid

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) announced early Friday morning that she would not seek reelection for her House seat, arousing immediate suspicion that she intends to launch a third-party presidential bid after all.
It’s chaotic now, imagine how messed up it’ll be with a Dem running as a third party?

Would she modify her political opinions now that she’s out from under the DNC? Maybe move to the middle?

If so what kind of effect might that have.

    Two scenarios I see:

    1. She knows she can't win and is trying out for a Cabinet role.
    2. She knows that the current crop are going to bring gale-force winds of destruction on the Dems for the next four years, and she wants to step away and ride out the coming storm so she can be the one to ride to the rescue and rebuild the Party in her image.

In many ways, Gabbard has been using the same playbook as Obama, an undistinguished back-bench junior legislator who happens to be photogenic, charismatic and minority--she's every bit as Left as Sanders and Warren, but knows that they tried to push the edge of the envelope too far and Blue Team's radicals need to be marginalized or muzzled so that someone who can *look* like they fit into the current Overton Window of voter acceptability can get elected and re-open the doors for the Children of the Revolution to start the next round of leftward push. This is the same cycle as the Dems have always done, they push as far as they can, then once it's pushed too far they immolate the "old bulls" and let the next generation backpedal a bit to get elected before they begin their own push. Two or three steps forward, one step back, always keeping an eye on the goals of the Long March Through The Institutions.

DO NOT trust Gabbard, she is a political animal through and through, and any appearance of "moderation" is a flag-of-convenience to get to the Big Desk.

You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.

Never did! I don't trust ANYONE on the Democrat side and only a few on the Republican side. This fawning over her by the MSM (and some guys on here and other "conservative" sites) is sickening. She's a friggin' socialist through and through, even a borderline commie. She served in the NG. That seems to catch most people's attention and they gloss over the real political views she has.

Which feeds the Bulwanker and other Vichycuck Kapo lines about "B-b-but MUH WAWR HEE-ROW!" just like they did to excuse all of McShitstain's odious deeds in political office. *coughcoughKeatingFivecoughcough*

I'm all for splitting the Dem vote with her as an independent. But she is no friend of ours.

    https://www.ontheissues.org/Tulsi_Gabbard.htm

Ban assault weapons; require universal background checks. (Jan 2019)

She has some bizarre issues on Government Reform for someone who has taken the oath.

Eliminate the Electoral College. (Jul 2019)
    Mandate paper ballots. (Jul 2019)
No photo IDs to vote; they suppress the vote. (Jul 2017)
Establish "My Voice Voucher" small campaign contributions. (Feb 2014)
Public financing of federal campaigns by voter vouchers. (Jan 2017)
Statehood for the District of Columbia. (Apr 2018)

She has a few moderate views and isn't Batshit Pelosi Insane, but there's enough there that is simply a non starter.

That was the talk in 2016 before Bernie decided to go defect and support Hillary even though (I believe) he knew at the time how corrupt the DNC was.

The DNC and GOP are both heading for a fracture in the near future. I do think there is a common "centrist" ground that is being unrepresented by both parties. I'm not at all opposed to having three or four or even up to ten minority parties that have to compromise and work together to get things accomplished.

I can appreciate her being well-spoken and having entertaining counter punches to Hillary without fawning.

I can also appreciate the impact of her being a spoiler for the Dems as an independent but it would also steal some Republican votes from the never trumper's.

Put another way we should be glad she's being marginalized because if the Democratic party embraced her we would be in trouble.

We should not be intellectually dishonest...
I'm capable of admitting that McCain's experience in Vietnam makes him an honest war hero at the same time as saying he was a politically dangerous Washington insider, especially in his later years.

Personally I'm not going to throw shade at anyone's military service, especially not someone who made it through Vietnam pow scenarios.

I also don't think it makes them walk on water either.

Off the top of my head, without really thinking on it..Im inclined to believe that it would affect the Dem party only, I see no drawback for Trump or Repubs.
I hope her and others do a third party, or fourth party, or whatever.
As far as her ability to affect my daily life & income as a President, I give two shits about her service. If she doesnt know what she swore allegiance too, and apparently she doesnt, screw her.

Didn't Hillary Clinton throw some shade recently?
I wonder if someone sat her down and talked to her about this?
