Figured I'd give this thread a bump to see if anyone has any more input on the Enidine buffer.

Mine still sits in a parts box. Not sure if it will get used again, over concerns that it takes something that's nearly unbreakable (the buffer) and replaces it with something that, if it failed, might make the weapon inoperable.

a bit off topic...but i've been running an Oly pneumatic buffer in my SPRish type rifle for a while now.

i use it to reduce recoil while using a 4-16x scope. keep in mind, this is a bench gun for me. it is by no means a fighting rifle; it doesn't even have iron sights on it.

i agree with your previous sentiment: for a hard use/fighting rifle, a buffer and spring is the way to go.

I tried the Enidine buffer with an M16 carrier and still had failures to lock open on an empty magazine. I used it in my Oly 9mm carbine since it doesn't lock the slide back anyways.

Now is sits in my parts bin.

I like the MGI RRB much better, but the cost in nutz.

That is why I went with the MGI buffer instead, if it "fails" it will still function as a regular buffer. It is nice and heavy too, at a bit over 7oz if I recall correctly.

I love the MGI buffers and you don't have any problems locking the bolt back.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

Frivolity aside, are these things unreliable and/or problematic?

The recoil mitigation aspect has my interest piqued.
