Easily Removed Free Float Handguards

Hi all,

I am doing a super short 22lr dedicated upper and I want to tuck my DA Mask under a ~7" free float handguard. I'm curious if anyone knows of any handguards that can easily be removed for the inevitability that my can needs a strap wrench to come off. The fact that it might have to come off every 500-1000 rds for can cleaning is why I'm looking at a quick removal/install handguard option. To me the always subsonic shots makes this trade off worth it. Unfortunately I can't use my go-to Geissele hg's in this case so I'm looking for an alternative.

These are options I know of:
- Fortis Switch rail
- Strike Ind.

Anything else you guys can think of?

You could just leave 1.5-2” exposed for a strap wrench.

For speed and ease the switch is probably the best.
Id stick with a shorter HG myself though.

By design, the strap wrench would have to go on the very base of the silencer or it will unthread itself

i looked it up... I see the issue.
Those are probably the best 2 options for your situation.
I wouldnt want to be torquing bolts every time either.

DD makes a larger diameter rail. They're super easy to remove.

Aero Atlas rails come off real easy. Use the included torx wrench to loosen and tighten. Their install instructions state to hand tighten the taper lock screw. Removing the rail from the upper is tight but smooth once you break the taper lock wedges from the barrel nut. You can also keep the wrench in your pistol grip. Mine fits in my BCM grip just fine.

The CMT and Battle Arms rigid rail are also quick and easy to remove and reinstall.
