So my brother see's these girls and before they make it to us my brother leans in and warns me "The blond girl is always on a ton of Xanex... and she gives it to the dog..." I'm just like WTF.
So they come over and no sht, she and dog, as she confirms with out prompt are on Xanex. She then proceeds to do things like hug this dog and pick it up. All the while we were standing there at this bar. It was surreal.
So the story comes out later from my brother that her long time boyfriend had died of cancer two years ago and this 5 year old dog was a dog they had gotten together. Its a sad story, I can see how this girl is fcked up. But... idk if she really needed the dog at the bar.
We are all millennials in this story.
So I would probably "no kidding" go back into my house if it was on fire to make sure and rescue my dogs. My dogs are pretty much family to me. But they don't go on car rides if they don't need to, they don't go with me to any place that serves food, they don't go with me to the store or anything like that. That is because of two things.
1. There is a limit to normal. If I don't have an actual / factual legit need for a service dog I'm not going to inconvenience the entire world by bringing my dog with me simply because it makes me feel better and it's so easy to get an "emotional support" certification.
2. My dog would rather be at home sleeping on the couch anyway.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.
