    AR suppressors?

    Hi folks,

    Couple questions:

    1. Will a 6.5 Creedmore suppressor work on 5.56 effectively?

    2. Thoughts on screw/quick attach suppressor vs integrated?

    Appreciate your thoughts!

A 30cal can will work just fine on 6.5 and 556. I prefer some sort of QD mount for easy switching. I think the sandman S is a good first can for all rifle purposes

all of my AR suppressors use brake/flash hider attachments.

Ive used 30 cal cans on ARs before but none of them do as well as a 556 can made and dedicated for the AR.

Personal favorite is the tried and true KAC NT4 QDSS tank of a can. Its awesome, and lives most of its life on my 10.3" SOCOM profile colt SBR. hell of a truck gun.

I am thinking about getting a suppressor for my rifles. Is there a model that would work well for both a .308 and a 5.56 so that I wouldn't have to purchase two separate ones, or would it be best to just get a caliber specific model?

there are several that have interchangable end caps, but i have found i dont do any of that, and moved away from double duty on my cans. most of them were bought for special purposes and may rotate between a couple of same-caliber rifles/pistols.

    YMMV.

Yes and it will be more versatile than a 5.56 suppressor.

There are many QD suppressors on the market. If you have some elbow room in your budget, check out Energetic Arms' suppressors.

I run a .308 quicksand on my .556 AR and love it. Quick on and off, same amount of suppression. When I decide to purchase a .308 it will be easy to swap over.

One can only or do you plan on getting more? I have found that everything is a compromise. I have a specwar 556 that is quiet but long and heavy and a SF SOCOM Mini 556 that is shorter, lighter, less gassy, but of course louder.

I find myself shooting the mini a lot more often on a 14.5 and my 11.5. I only shoot the specwar on my 10.3.

I prefer QD because I also enjoy shooting without the can.

    As mentioned, a .30 or 6.5mm will be fine for a 5.56.
Either a QD or a “thread over muzzle brake” such as a SAS, TBAC or Q suppressor
