This country is not worth defending. Change my mind

I’ve been the biggest patriot for the longest time. However, life is cruel and I’ve begun to rethink it. What makes this country worth defending. We live in a society that is disgusting. Our society defines you by your past even if you made a genuine mistake. You have people trying to strip the constitution. You have truly degenerate behavior left and right, etc. What makes this country great? What still makes it worth defending?

“... what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. it is it’s natural manure.” - Jefferson

A.) There exists nowhere a system more worth defending.

B.) Do you really think the tyrants will end up shedding less blood than the patriots if it comes to open revolt? The mushy middle will always hunker down and wait for the smoke to clear. The passionate left will rely on central authority to implement their desired outcome. The passionate right will risk all on individuals organizing of all levels of society to defend our constitutional liberty. Given that much, if not most, of centralized authority is pro-constitution I know where I’d place my bet.

The principles (read that as the Constitution) the nation was built on are worth defending.

The people in this nation, regardless of how much we disagree, are worth defending provide they follow those principles.

However, I wouldn't give you a plugged nickel for a whole lot of Congress about right now.

I live my life with the concept that you absolutely find what you are looking for. When all you are looking for is bad, disgusting, and worthless, that is all you see.

I look for the good in life, and I find fine people all around me that work hard, live honest lives, stay loyal to their families, treat their spouses with kindness and respect, and wake up every morning glad they live in the U.S. Every day I find a new reason to keep moving forward and be proud of this country.

If you can't find that where you are at, then maybe you need to look somewhere else.

There have been PLENTY of times in our history of the United States that it has been FAR worse than it is now.

That is something I think a lot of people honestly do not understand, except of course for racism in the past. But if any sitting President pulled a stunt like the Bonus Army incident, it probably would touch off a actual civil war.

If nothing else, the promise of this nation is worth defending. In hope that someday that promise will be fully realized.

It also happens to be a damn sight better than anywhere else so even the status quo is worth it to me.

Ex-Pats doing it every day. Maybe some time abroad, living under the freedoms other countries provide, will change your mind.
I like it here and things are cyclical. If Im gonna have to fight the zombie hoards, I would just assume doing so, on my particular piece dirt.
