Thanks, understood. My question at this point is simply whether or not two PMAGs with the TTI +5 extensions on them would work paired up or if the additional thickness of the mags at their base would preclude them being linked like this. I may not be making myself clear, so I'll give this one more go.

The 40 round Pmags are pretty long, so long going prone is tough, using a mag coupler would make it a bit more challenging.

I didn't know SS was using the D60s and they don't mess with unreliable gear.

I keep coming back to this thread.

Here’s the deal. I mentioned using Strike Ind extensions with 40 rd PMAGs. This is good.
I confirmed they work with the Magpul coupler. I neglected to add that I did not leave them that way. Super heavy, and off balance. Also long, but that didn’t bother me.
The weight issue is not minimal, it really is noticeable when you’re talking about 90 rounds hanging off your rifle. I imagine my opinion on this would remain the same with the Redimag options, and those are just more things to break/get in the way on your gun. Seriously, if you need that many rounds in such a rush that you couldn’t pull from your belt, I don’t think you’re going to stay alive anyway.

I think that if the D60 or Surefire 60 rd (there are a couple in the EE still, maybe?) is not an option for some reason other than cost, and you feel you need more than 20 or 30 rds in your first magazine, I would stick with a single 40 rd PMAG with another mag of whatever size as your second.
