AR500 Armor plate carriers...what's the skinny?

Anyone have any experience with AR500 Armor's line of plate carriers? Or just general thoughts on them? Looking to get armor and I'm not going to skimp on the actual plates but if I can get a decent "budget" carrier then that will only help the bank account. I know they are made overseas (Vietnam I think?) but the materials they use seem to be on par with the good stuff. The two I'm curious about are their Veritas plate carrier and their Invictus. Haven’t used it that much so I can’t speak on durability but I find my testudo to be comfortable enough.
That said don’t forget to shop around there are lots of options for decent prices.

The cheap one has massive shoulder pads so that should be ruled out. For $199, go to OPTactical and SKD and shop around. You can have several Velocity carriers for that price, which is a great company.

Or, go to Blue Force Gear and get one of their previous Gen carriers for like $100. I’m tempted to do that for my wife honestly.

Or worse, the massive buckles that are going to dig into the users shoulders. #ouch.

I’m not sure which AWS I have, but I’ve had it for like 6 years. Its been used extensively on duty and off, and I like it as much as any carrier I’ve been issued, including Paraclete, Eagle, and Crye. Its got nice features, like side plate pouches and a kangaroo pouch, and is very durable.
