    Need Buffer "Weights" Help Please

Are the individual weights the same outside dimensions whether for a carbine or a fixed stock like an A2? The reason I ask is because I find nothing specific for A2, rifle-length, etc for individual buffer weights. And because of this statement:

    "Rifle vs Carbine

Rifle length buffer weights are used when a standard A2 buffer tube is installed for a fixed stock. The extra length helps to fill the void in the longer A2 rifle buffer tube. Carbine buffer weights are used with most collapsible stocks that utilize a carbine buffer tube. Generally, fixed stocks use an A2 smooth buffer tube and adjustable stocks use a carbine buffer tube. Most of the stocks on the market use a Mil-Spec carbine buffer tube and are adjustable for length of pull."

Was considering the KAK Industry AR15 Configurable Buffer Kit until I read the above.

    Thanks

Rifle buffers have an aluminum internal spacer and 5 steel weights.

You can increase the weight of a rifle buffer by replacing the spacer with 2 steel weights or replacing the steel weights with tungsten. The weights are the same physical size between the rifle and carbine buffers.

Piggybacking a related question: What happens if you run a CAR H3/H6 (shorter length but equal in weight) in a Rifle tube?

I wouldn't hesitate to buy the kit, I've had good luck with KAK buying buffers and buffer parts, as well as other items.

The carrier key hits parts it's not supposed to, rather than the rubber on the end of your buffer being the limit of the stroke.

Thanks. Just one of those "trying to understand not just the what and how but the why too" things.

I have never done this, but have heard of guys putting spaces in the 'bottom' of the receiver extension. Would this work in Diamondback's case?
