Feel bad this thread has been hijacked with the 2020 Python debacle, but not sure the original thread hadn’t ran its course and don’t think it is really worth starting a new one.

Edit: reviewing some Python videos on YouTube and a Colt rep hinted at a return of the Anaconda. Hope they refine it before shipping.

No need to feel bad, probably my first thread ever nearing 100 replies

And I’m also interested to hear how the new Python fares. So far not so good it seems.

I’ll still post pics of my old / new to me Python with different grips

Next I’ll start an Anaconda thread

I really like that 4” Python. The new grips look like they would be perfect. My late 70’s early 80’s Python has the rubber grips. The larger ones you have look like they would fit the hand better.

Still wondering if I should hold off. Still have one up for pre order with Sportsman Outdoor. Production seems to have slowed.

Went by my LGS today they had this blued python in stock. Just has a scratch on the blueing as you can probably tell on the right side of the gun near the butt of the gun. Almost debating getting this instead for $1900. Thoughts?

    No.

A Python with a giant scratch and no box or papers, is not a $1900 Python.

Not sure if it has the box or papers I’ll ask. If it doesn’t then what would it be worth?

In my perspective, not very much. That gun's claim to fame is its collector value, which pretty much turns to a bowl of mush with the condition issue, and the lack of box/papers.

Say it does have the box and papers. The scratch can be fixed if the gun is re blued I assume. What does that do to value?
