I carry one 80 plus hours a week. With a weapon light, the 17 is still very optimal for people.

And if a department is looking at supplying 40-50 pistols. The $100 dollar more for the G34. That is alot of money for extra barrel length when the 17 has been proven for soo many years. We just switched from G22 gen 3's that were dated 1996 for Gen4 G17's. With a TLR-1. No point in having a G45/19X with the TLR-1.

All honesty. I like the way the gen 3's feel.

This. Thank you. We don’t do fanboyism here.

We seek to discredit and disprove our way to the truth rather than let marketing or shills tell us what we should think

To the LE depts and some .mil units who carry them, I guess. Not to me. They'd have to offer something that differentiates them over other pistols apart from marketing slogans, and the only objective things I see are "more LE use them" and "more aftermarket parts." The first is utterly irrelevant to me, and the last is only interesting if you can't get what you need for your preferred pistols.

Everybody seems to gravitate to the 19, but I like my 17s. Main reason is for me the 19 has too small a grip. I never could get used to having my pinkie hanging off the end of the gun. Also, my first Glock ever was a Larry Vickers Edition Glock 17, and I like the feel of the rough texture finish much better than the way a standard Glock feels. Now my son has 45, and I like that. The shorter barrel would be a bit more handy when sitting down, because the holster wouldn't hang down as low. That may just be what I need to go from 3:00 OWB, to Appendix carry. For now though, I think that just because new things are invented doesn't mean the Glock 17 isn't a good weapon.

Hell, I still like 1911s too, but I prefer a mounted light, and mine didn't have a rail, so I sold it...

I’ve ran a 17 for awhile now, my hands are large so I prefer the grip, because the 19 is too small my hand overhangs the bottom... however I completely agree with you on this I actually wish I had gone with a 34
