Everybody seems to gravitate to the 19, but I like my 17s. Main reason is for me the 19 has too small a grip. I never could get used to having my pinkie hanging off the end of the gun. Also, my first Glock ever was a Larry Vickers Edition Glock 17, and I like the feel of the rough texture finish much better than the way a standard Glock feels. Now my son has 45, and I like that. The shorter barrel would be a bit more handy when sitting down, because the holster wouldn't hang down as low. That may just be what I need to go from 3:00 OWB, to Appendix carry. For now though, I think that just because new things are invented doesn't mean the Glock 17 isn't a good weapon.
Hell, I still like 1911s too, but I prefer a mounted light, and mine didn't have a rail, so I sold it...
You know what I like best about most people?
Their dogs.
