Normal Wear on M&P Trigger Bar

    Hey guys -

I've been told this is normal wear, but want to confirm/discuss with you guys.

I was cleaning my M&P 2.0 Compact 4" after it just broke the 500 round mark. I noticed on the trigger bar "ear" (idk what to call it) some gouge marks on the front and back. I have been told it's normal wear from Brandon Wright, who has extensive experience with the M&P platform.

If it is normal then what is causing it?

I know this part doesn't directly engage the sear, but if I am not mistake it does interact with the plunger.

Does not look normal. I have a ton of rounds thru the 40 and 9mm 1.0's i have. (lost count after 10k) None of them looks like that. Maybe its normal for the 2.0. But those gouges look unnatural to me.

Agreed. My 1.0 and 2.0 Compact look NOTHING like your photo OP

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you,
but it's still on my list.

Thanks for the info guys. I sent an email out to SW today (not counting on much tho). I will report back.

Somehow I think the trigger bar ear there is making a significant contact in that channel in the slide next to the plunger. I noticed a burr there too.

I suggest taking a better picture if you're going to communicate with S&W.

Riots are like sports, it's better to watch it on TV at home.

I received an initial response from SW; Steve considers it normal wear.

If they say it is normal. Run it until it breaks and then send it in.
