    Glock 17 vs Glock 45

You guys that have both models or have spent time with them, what are your thoughts on comparison?

    Considering upgrading my duty/off duty G-17 gen 3 with either a gen 5 in G-17 or G-45.

I have heard some guys say they shot the G-45 just as well and that the recoil was less.

Opinions are very much appreciated, Thanks.

Recoil isn’t less but there is less reciprocating mass with the G45.

If you’re going to dot it, G45.

    If you’re not carrying a light, G45.

    The G45/19x definitely tracks faster.

I shoot the 19x, and the 45 just as good as the 19, and I personally shoot the 19 better than any 17 I've dealt with.

    17. Shoots softer. There’s a reason why everyone runs 34s in USPSA and not 45s.

Well for one thing, 45s are way too new for everyone to shoot them in USPSA.

    17s aren’t new. just about everyone chooses a 34 over a 17.

    I use a 19.5 for CO division.
Im not nationally competitive yet, but... you said everyone.

My experience is that until you get to A class - ish the gun attributes are overshadowed by skill deficiency.

I have both and prefer the G45. I can't articulate the precise reasons, but it just feels better to me while shooting it.
