I’m 46, stand 5’10” and currently check in at about 207. I’ve dropped close to 30lbs or so since November. I’ve been looking for the right motivation to get me going and just before Thanksgiving I found it, I had a heart attack. I mean seriously, who has a heart attack at 46? I did a complete lifestyle change. I eat a lot of vegetables, lot of soup and a little bit of chicken. I mostly cook at home with only the occasional night out. I also walk a lot. I still have some room to go as I need to cut the occasional chocolate bar and cookie out but I’ve been please with the changes. My cardio is much improved compared to before the HA and I’ve actually gotten where I enjoy ripening my heart rate up for an hour or so. I would t recommend having a HA but it definitely got me on the right track. My goal is to get somewhere around 185ish then maintain.
Im going to say I may question the scale on this one. But, pants are certainly looser.

Also fingerguns, sorry to hear about the HA, but glad you’re making solid choices to take care of yourself.

So one thing I recently discovered. I purchased a heart rate monitor to make sure I don't over tax my ticker. It's pretty sweet when you feel a little gassed to look at the monitor and see you are only at 135 bpm....time to step it up and keep going. I went on a hike yesterday and did over an hour at the warm up stage, about 45 minutes in the fat burning zone and 30 minutes in the cardio zone. I also took several hikes on my regular routes that I thought I was getting a decent workout on. I noted I didn't even break into the fat burning zone.
I guess what I'm trying to say is unless you are working your heart hard enough, you aren't working hard enough.
Been doing great with reduced sugar intake, almost no fried foods, and reduced fats. I am down to 118. Only 3 pounds above "normal" for me. Best winter weight I have had in a long time.
184 today.
Pretty excited as I didn't think I would be losing any this week.
