Happy to not go up... But kicking soda (and chai tea lattes) alone has probably made the biggest difference in the past several weeks-month. About to hit the road for work again this week, which really presents the challenge.
I feel like being able to prep your own meals is pretty important and I'm no health guru.

Not at my current job but I've had ones where I had to travel for the day (visiting customer sites) this led to a lot of eating out. Or at times traveling for a week or weeks at a time training and that was worse. Normally didn't have a room with kitchen to buy and make food.

    Good luck!

Actually, if you're cagey about it you can eat out even most meals and still drop pounds--the trick is to avoid non-fiber carbs; my usual is something like a steak and salad with corn or green beans. It may not be the Express to Ground Floor the fad-diet gurus recommend, but my docs want me to make slow and comfortable changes over a longer timeline so I'm more likely to stick with them. Also, avoiding fast-food in favor of at least "casual dining" helps a lot; most of the fast-food I eat now is Arby's roast beef sandwiches, and on those I throw the bread away and re-wrap the meat in a tortilla.

One thing I've been finding helps a lot is dumping sodas (okay, I have a couple swigs of Dr Pepper when I start the morning and a couple more at lunch, just enough to keep the caffeine withdrawal headaches away) in favor of flavored sparkling water like Cascade Ice; no carbs, no sugar, 5 calories or less, better flavor than tap water makes me more likely to drink it too.

Not gonna lie. I have enjoyed some energy drinks I found fairly recently. Something like Xience brand. A couple gas stations on my normal driving routes have them. 0 calories, tastes pretty good. Better than soda or diet soda or coffee.

Fast food is anyone’s bane, unless doing some super high impact workouts every day.

I've gotten good at finding decent salads, and steak/salad combos. Drinking only unsweetened iced tea with lemon at dinner. Most places serve steamed broccoli and it's much better for you than corn. I'm actually glad that many restaurants list calories on their menus. One of my favorite lunches is at Red Robin, their chicken Ensenada is excellent and less than 600 calories with dressing. Surprisingly, McDonalds's southwestern chicken salad is pretty damn good.

Tortillas aren't all that good. Look up what a big flour tortilla has in it. It's roughly the equivalent of two slices of wheat bread.

Getting rid of soda and energy drinks is a solid step to a healthy life. None of them are good for you. Good choice on the sparkling water. It's really too bad you don't like coffee It's the easy solution to your caffeine issues.

So I’ve been holding steady for about a month because I’m behind my office computer 12 hours a day lately. I’ve wanted a rower for a long time so I finally ordered one on amazon. One of the best bang for the buck machines workouts IMO so hopefully it’ll be easier to get something quick but worthwhile in before I’m at work all damn day.

The past two weeks I've hit my five day workout goal. I historically have always struggled with getting that 5th workout in but now that I'm getting into the swing of sticking to getting all five days in during the work week it's becoming less of a burden and more of the normal routine.

Weight wise, I'm at 185 as of this morning. I'm not too concerned with that though as I can see my mid section has slimmed and my pants are fitting looser than they were a month and half ago.

Alcohol wise, I didn't make it though sober January. I had a few beers last night and last Friday as well. I have however been a stickler to not drinking at all during the week.

Goal is to still drop back down to 170 by summer, so I might have to cut out that evening snack I enjoy while watching a show at night.

I don’t have to check to know that my weight will go up a bit tomorrow. Watched the calories overall, but didn’t eat as clean while on the road this week. Doing a better job with that when driving because I can bring food or stop and purchase; this week involved flights. So we’ll see.

    Hey guys -

    I'm 28.
    6'0"
    420 lbs.

Been going to the gym for about a year. Killing it at the gym, but having a hard time changing the nutrition and it shows.

Gained 0.6# this week, ended at 204.8 with lows of 200.8. Must be time to start hitting the salad bar harder again...

I was dreading stepping on the scale today. Had lunch out with the guys at work and then dinner out with the family.

Must have been pretty good the rest of the week. 185 today.
