I feel that we have strayed from the original point of this thread.
However, I have taken to heart (or what ever the saying is) the suggestions directed towards me.
I've changed my attitude from a let's see how it goes... to alright let's make a good effort to get where I want to be.
I'll report back as normal and should be showing some good progress.

Gosh dang guys, what in the world. Didn’t one thread already get closed for this kind of stuff?
I don’t think a little jabbing is unhelpful, because it keeps us honest, perhaps even motivates. And, being able to take a light jab is a good skill to have. But at the same time, a brawl on what is best to eat is not what we need here.
When it comes to exercise and goals in general, I am a better sprinter. But if you only sprint, you can get the yo-yo effect.
I’ve found drastic action that is sustainable to be the most effective approach for me, but tempered by making sure I’m not doing a full, crazy “sprint.” Then, I moderate things like when you do interval training. So instead of a sprint-stop, I go nearly sprint-jog, etc.
Maybe that makes sense. Maybe not. Maybe another poor allegory would be Pavel Tsatsouline’s principle of never doing an exercise set to failure: always keep 1-2 reps in reserve so you don’t completely destroy your muscles. This lets you pick up and do another full set a few minutes later, gaining a better overall workout.
In other news, I’ve straight up been lazy with the food choices/restraint this week. Friends have been bringing by some awesome food (who knew pistachio cake was a thing??). At the same time, the basement gym has seen some good use. So we’ll see. I have kept the scale put away during the week and only pull it out on Sundays.
Not saying you should eat it all the time but I'd give it a shot.

Please stop with all of the bullshit in this thread, it actually served a purpose to members here before getting so derailed.
