My Excel spreadsheet is set up to compute gain/loss from previous weight (morning after 4S drill/night right before bed), previous day, previous week and previous month. The individual points are themselves individually useless except for morale, but together they form a scatterplot pattern that helps me see the bigger picture. YMMV, of course; but for a trend of gaining 60 pounds over 20 years, dropping 40 of it in eleven months means something's working for me.
