My Excel spreadsheet is set up to compute gain/loss from previous weight (morning after 4S drill/night right before bed), previous day, previous week and previous month. The individual points are themselves individually useless except for morale, but together they form a scatterplot pattern that helps me see the bigger picture. YMMV, of course; but for a trend of gaining 60 pounds over 20 years, dropping 40 of it in eleven months means something's working for me.

And that’s pretty cool, too, if you’re dedicated enough to track that deeply and look for patterns.
At the end of the day, it’s mostly accountability and goal tracking for most people, so weekly is enough. But not detracting from daily if it is beneficial for the individual.

Terrible eating, but influenza A probably helped out a bit this week.

Limited working out (nearly nil). However, once I get down to 170 on my bathroom scale (which is nice quality but shows slightly low), I will ramp up the workouts. At that point, I expect to increase caloric intake fairly substantially due to increased energy use; however, will remain in a lesser deficit.

Ended the week at 199.4, overall drop for the week of a pound. Only one plot-point for the week on the wrong side of 200; right now I'm thinking slack off a little until I hit 205, then clamp down again until 190.

I figure I've earned that plate of lasagna now...

Anyone meal prep? I don’t have much time, so I’ve been using mother of macros meal prep services and I’ve lost 80 lbs so far. The biggest thing for me is balance and “MOM” has healthy donuts and cakes so when I do “cheat”, I don’t feel so bad and it’s easy to jump back on track. My sweet tooth comes on at night when my day is done and I have idle time on my hands. Exercise isn’t anything without a proper diet in check.

I’m far too lazy to meal prep at this point. I know I will have to the closer I get to where I want to be, particularly as workouts ramp up. When I was doing one CrossFit and sometimes plus one full body workout each day a few years ago... I leaned out, was hard as a rock, and got pretty strong relative to weight, but I couldn’t put on much muscle mass due to not eating enough to keep up.

Hmac, many months ago in one of these threads, said that you'd hit a set point and getting past that and keeping the weight off below that is tough. He is absolutely correct. I have been stuck at 230 for a while now. It's easy to track why, but hard to cure.

Just keep on trucking, a little at a time--and I don't know if this would work for you, but one trick that helps me is every five to ten pounds off I reward myself with something I'm "not supposed to have." That plate of lasagna (or slice of cheesecake, or whatever motivates you) tastes so much better when you know you've EARNED it...
