Yes. It hits similar receptors to sugar but doesn’t increase your blood glucose level. They’re finding that it leads to insulin resistance .

Motivation: Have to wear a suit today, and the pants are still uncomfortably snug.

Keto for two weeks. Down a notch. Ate pizza with the kids last night and have horrific heartburn today. Lesson confirmed.

I have a few suits, and none of them fit me great. Always seemed to be a different size when I needed to wear them.

Hopefully as I shrink I will fit back into some of my smaller ones.

Ended the week at 198.8, which is looking like "new normal." Overall drop of 0.8 for the week.

A little late to note, monthly drop for February ended up 5.6.

    Just getting into this thread

    Age: 37
    Weight current: 183
    Weight lowest: 175
weight highest: 239 (yeah, i know)

When I was in my latter teens and early 20s I did the under 200lbs body building thing and even placed 7th both times I competed. After I turned about 23 My girlfriend at that time started drinking and "other things" way too much and I stopped working out. I still kept my "beach ready" body and six pack every summer up until I was about 32-33 when I really got fat. In March 2016 I decided I wanted to change and I started running again and working out. I went from 239 lbs back down to 195 lbs in about 3 months. I am married as of Jan 30, 2019 and my wife, originally from Haiti, makes some of the most amazing food but we have decided to get back into shape. I have currently dropped down to 183 from 205 since december 16, 2019. I am targeting around 170-175 so I can get back to about 8% bodyfat. My wife is a sexy, phat-assed woman (not fat at all) with a tiny waist but she wants to lose around 15 lbs or so before we she gets pregnant (which we are currently working on).
I believe I am doing rather well, I don't really have any problems or cravings. The only issue I actually have is sometimes not having the energy or drive to go to the gym every day. I am trying to now go from 3-4 days a week to 5-6 days a week. I hate cardio and neither of us have been doing any (you don't need cardio to lose body fat) but instead of putting myself into a larger calorie deficit I have just started adding 30-45 min of cardio after a workout. Soon I will add fasted morning HIIT cardio on non-workout days to just slightly up the calorie burn.

Anyway, thanks for trudging through that with me. I'll be posting updates occasionally. Also, use the app Lose It! to track progress. It is seriously a great app!
