VA Dems float prosecution, Nat. Guard deployment if police don't enforce gun control

Virginia Democrats float prosecution, National Guard deployment if police don't enforce gun control

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...ce-gun-control

Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill say local police who do not enforce gun control measures likely to pass in Virginia should face prosecution and even threats of the National Guard.

Of course, shame on me for expecting something intelligent to come out of a Democratic politician's mouth.

Regardless, it's an easy fix. They try to use the VA NG for such measures? The DoD just activates them under federal orders in which Posse Comitatus applies and they are powerless to enforce laws.

This is good news guys. It shows the amount of opposition, the extent to which that disturbs the statist anti-2A crowd, the stated willingness of those statists to kill everyone (implied) to get their way, and tells the huge masses of don't-care-much-either-way that the statists are crazy and dangerous. The ban crowd is losing their public support from all but the true believers; Joe Average will go with whichever side sounds less crazy dangerous at a moment in time, and right now the antis sound crazy dangerous.

And for everyone outside VA, it shows the danger of your state being taken hostage by crazy leftists exploiting political-demographic changes in just a handful of highly populated areas. Your state could be next, wherever you live.

Agreed. I posted a devil's advocate post about how this may only empower the left to actually go through with it, but largely, it's showing that the warning about gun confiscation was not tinfoil hat stuff. I remember how after Hurricane Katrina, the mayor basically suspended the constitution and NOPD officers literally went door to door and took everything. The video of the old lady being thrown to the ground so they could get her cap and ball pistol away from her I think sparked new life into our cause.

They turned the fire up on the frog with this. Unfortunately for the left, and fortunately for us, Eric Swalwell and Beto O'Roarke opened their cockholsters and basically told us we were right to worry. So, even though the Dems told us to write those guys off as marginal candidates talking out their ass, we knew better, and so I think the gun community was ready for this.

Something a VA guy at RedState overheard from a couple cops in his gunshop...
I was in a gun store the other day and two county police officers came in just looking around. One of the other patrons said something about the pending legislation and the cops said something derogatory I couldn't make out. The patron asked him what he was planning to do if Richmond planned on taking the guns. The cop said that he'd have to bury them like everybody else. His partner was grinning and nodding as well. I believe this is going to blow up in their faces.
