Nail on the head. First, the stuff that is going forward is still a major infringement. Second, an AWB IS coming. It's just a matter of time. Right now, VA pushed too far; the general public is more on the pro-gun side, however slightly. Too many infringements at once, and people push back. I'd imagine they'll pass it after the next mass shooting, when everyone is in knee jerk reaction mode; never let a crisis go to waste and all that.

But the positive is that the rally did seem to have an effect. The sanctuary movement also had an effect. It brought attention to what the anti-gun left is actually planning. It was a warning that enforcement would be difficult, if not nearly impossible. So while this was not a victory for us, it is now a Pyrrhic victory for them.

Yesterday I ask a customer I've only known casually for about 4 years "how are you today"? We have never discussed or even mentioned politics or guns, but the guy goes off on a tangent about impeachment and how all is lost if Trump is not convicted. Trump will run again in 2024 he goes on and on with leftist fears I have never even heard of. His final statement is "thats why we have to go after the guns, they're going to shoot Biden and then kill us". I was speechless and did not comment. The guy was too emotional. Prior to this I always enjoyed seeing this guy and our casual conversations. He's an academic in his mid to upper 30's.

Author/blogger Vox Day has the saying "SJWs always project." Makes me wonder if you're hearing fear from this guy because that's exactly what he wants to do to anyone right of Bernie.

The last three years have been bizarre though. So many people on the left, many of them previously moderate, fairly reasonable people, have gone as crazy as the guy you described. It makes me wonder if there is some actual type of subconscious programming going on to drive it. I have a hard time believing that 20-40% of the adult population was batshit crazy all along, which is the other obvious explanation for this phenomena.

Some of my liberal friends have made similar comments, but they feel the need to arm themselves because they fear the right.

He then brought up an article on why low unemployment could actually be bad. Lol. You can't make this sh*t up! It is indeed a sickness.

The left has a fundamental belief system that is in opposition to ours. They cannot just agree to disagree. While their belief and fear is not supported by facts or history, to them it’s real.

What has happened is the 2 parties that use to want the same thing but had different ideas about how to achieve it, now want something totally different. But really, these people have to have a screw loose to actually believe all that. So if this is going to happen why hasn’t the President done it yet? Is it because he is too busy working on the economy so that everyone is lifted up? Or because of the horrendous action of attending the March for Life to protect babies? And, when all the Jews are rounded up will it include President Trump’s son, daughter in law and grandchildren? Oh, and my 401k had 17% growth last year, so whatever evil stuff the President is doing I hope he keeps it up.
