    Suppressor on LWRC issue

My main rifle at the moment is an LWRC M6-SPR Mod 0 5.56. I mounted a SilencerCo Saker 556 ASR, took it out this afternoon and had a handful of failure to feed issues. I was using Magtech M193 55gr 5.56 which is my usual go-to. Not sure what was happening, but would see the next round jammed into the ramps, the brass tilted at an upward angle with the BCG "trapping" the round. The bullet was pushed crooked in the case, and casing was pretty deeply gouged by the bolt.

As far as I know, there isn't any adjustment that can be made at the gas piston system. Is my next step to play with buffer weight? Not new to AR's but definitely new to suppressors and any changes they make to cyclic rate and gas system.

Thanks in advance, always great info here.

It's entirely possible the suppressor has added enough gas drive to cause the bolt to our run the magazine.

In general, you'll need a smaller gas port and or heavier buffer when running a suppressor to keep cyclic speeds in the normal range.

Hmm, just as I suspected. I read in an old thread that one could send in the upper to LWRC and they would perform a gas block swap to an adjustable. I sent them an email but in the meantime, does anyone know if they still offer that? And for that matter, where the heck did the LWRCi forums go?

    I have a LWRCi M6A2 upper.

It is so ridiculously over gassed it just beats itself to death.

I could never imagine adding a suppressor to it.

Its actually laughable how the HK416 and the LWRC were sold on their merit as a suppressor host while both were overgassed and had issues when suppressed. Both companies eventually released guns with adjustable gas systems to allow proper use of a suppressor.

The difference between the M6-SPR and the M6-IC is the adjustable gas piston. Running a suppressor on an IC is definitely nice. Mine throws the spent casings at 3 o’clock.

You can contact CS. They do good work.

    That's a good plan.

Let us know how it goes.

Pistons are a bad AR choice under any circumstance.

And in the interest of preserving the legitimacy of our site (which seems to be adrift at sea)... any lurkers here should be advised to NEVER buy anything from the bottom feeding shitbags known as LWRC.

These are bold and broad statements regarding piston ARs in general and LWRC in particular.

Are you saying you're against HK416/417 and LMT piston implementations (and a few others)? Are you saying it based on a personal preference/experience or a validated technical merit?

What was/is wrong with LWRC? They have their own manufacturing facilities producing lots of components in house including barrels and plastics. Not really a fly by night operation, I think. They seem to serve the same market segment as KAC from the consumer and possibly a mil perspective. Neither is my cup of tea, but that's purely a personal preference.

Is there some issue with LWRC people are generally not aware of?
