I grip could not take any type of grip panels like the talons (i assume because it was some coarse sandpaper style). And I never really was a fan of sanding or cutting a Polymer framed pistol. I am not skilled enough to make it look good, and why waste money when i can buy a gun how i want.

At this point, I've got more local friends with Gen 1 shields than Glocks.

I added Talon granulate grip tape to a Gen 1 late last week. I sanded the tape a bit with 120 grit paper. The tape and Apex sear take the pistol to the next level.

My other one will get the Talon treatment soon.

    Agreed.
Apex trigger and Talon tape really improved my Shield.

I just saw the M2.0 Compact 9mm listed for $349 at Grabagun. That's a great deal. I have more than 5,000 trouble-free rounds through mine.

On a related note, the M2.0 Optics-ready are up on the S&W website. Perhaps they are being introduced at S.H.O.T.

Is the compact similar in size to a G19? Or is it in between a G19 and a Shield? I need a Glock to M&P size chart and a history of all the M&P Changes! LOL : )

I looked on S&W's website. The only 9mm Optic Ready I saw was a Shield 2.0 and it had a red sight with it. Where am I missing it? Thanks!

the 4" is almost the exact same size as the G19.

the 3.6 is the same size minus a little off the slide/barrel length.

Was able to scoop a 5" 2.0 as a late Christmas gift to myself for right around $400, having owned pretty much every polymer wonder gun out there with the exception of an M&P, delightfully surprised at how well they shoot. Really the only thing I'm considering changing is the front sight to fiber optic as the rear sight appears to be bullet proof.

    M_Rapp,

All of the C.O.R.E. pistols seem to be listed as "Performance Center" guns.

Any thoughts on the thumb safety version vs without?

    The 1.0 compact was between a 19 and 26
The fs is between a 19 and 17.

The newer 2.0 compact 4” is 19 sized ( between the m&p1.0 fs and compact)
