I traded something for one of these. It's my range beater. I shoot it more than I do my Colt series 80. 100% lead handloads and she works just fine.

Tip: throw away the mags that came with the gun, and get Metalform, Mecgar, Wilson.

Definitely an older one. It has the cross cannons to the rear of the ejection port. Other than custom shop stuff, Springfield hasn't done that on 1911s since the late 80s/early 90s. A custom 1911 builder friend believes these have better steel than later models. You also have an NM serial frame. These were Brazilian forgings from Imbel that saw final finishing in the US. They tend to have better machine work and tighter tolerances than the other frames Springfield used. These are great platforms for customization.
