Colt Canada Desert Tan N1 Stock Set?? Unicorn??

What do I have here?? I know it’s Colt Canada, but after hours of searching, I can’t find anything. It sat on Armslist for a while, and I took a chance after noticing the Colt Canada Cage code. $25, why not!!lol I know the C7 and C8 came with green furniture, but I’ve never seen desert tan. Stock does have the N1 marking. I want to throw this on a rifle, but don’t want to break the plastic if I have something especially rare.

Edit: looks like the set was originally black or green, and was painted at the factory for the specific contract.

Member Diamondback has been doing a lot of research trying to build a Canadian clone, maybe PM him?

Sounds almost like something CC might have slapped together for the CF's Afghanistan deployment. I'll ask a few guys on a board up north and see if they can help you.

One of the guys over there thinks this furniture set might have been made for a Botswana contract before they switched to Magpul. I'll be offline helping my aunt move tomorrow, but if anything mores comes in during the day I'll pass it along once I'm back at my laptop.

It's just trial furniture that was issued in Afghanistan. Since the C7/C8 had green furniture on them and they were operating in a desert environment, the CF wanted to trial the different color furniture to break up the outline of the rifle. They came in carbine and rifle versions. Most people they issued them too just threw them in barrack box. All they are is painted furniture.

About what I was thinking, RR--based on the time, my gut suggested "Afghanistan Deployment," and with how few tan rifles are seen in photos from Operation Athena my gut guess was an experiment that fizzled. Light_Fighter over at CGN confirms this, also... me, I'd set it aside since someday it could be of value to somebody building a "CF Afghanistan Special" clone.

Wish I coulda found a set of the regular greens as cheap and easy as you found these, OP...

After stripping puke yellow/baby poop green Rhodesian camo off FAL parts and truck bed liner coating M16A1 furniture when sellers were selling them for $5 each or 10/$15, followed by prices going through the roof 10 years later it could be worth hanging on to them awhile.

The Average Canadian Green handguard set were $299 CDN when they were available. I was told there was only around 200 set each of C7 and C8. I had 3 sets each at one time. I sold 2 set of each.

Sadly, not available at all on this side of The Line... the GF and I are thinking to fake it with Gunkote's new Napa Green.
