    SA RO Elite Operator 9mm

So I posted here about wanting a DW Specialist in 9mm. Ended up finding a used Springrield Armory Range Officer Elite Operator 9mm that was easier on the wallet, for now. I've read some mixed good and bad experiences, and I already made the purchase so nothing I can do about it now (lol). Anyone have expeirence with these they can share? Anything to look out for in particular on these?

Contact Springfield. Their Customer Service is excellent and even if slightly used they may fix it for free anyway.

I have not had a Springer RO but have had a couple of other Springfield 1911s both a GI Basic and a Loaded model & both were great guns! I know the RO is a step up from both of these models so I wouldn't worry much. The best way to find out is put 1000++ rounds through it and see what happens! And yes although I never needed it, SA does have some of the best CS out there so if something comes up you will always have that. I'm sure others will comment but just shoot it ( A lot) and go from there.

I have 3 ROs prior to the Elite designation, 2 in 9mm and one in .45. All three have been solid performers. Much like many 9mm 1911s they can be picky about mags, but it hasn't been much of an issue with mine other than they don't like the Wilson plastic followers. They won't hold open on the last round. Every mag I've tried with a metal follower has been fine.

That's good to know. I plan to have the 9130 model soon. Any particular magazine brand otherwise?

I'm using Metalform and older Wilsons that have the metal follower. My 9mms are the 9130 and 9129 IMO they are one of the best buys available.

Thanks! Stripped it down, cleaned, and lubed as soon as I got it home. Previous owner said 50rds through it. Seems like an accurate number to me. Came with 7 mags which I was really happy about. Now I need to go this week and see if it'll run well.
