    SCAR question

Is the SCAR used primarily by SOCOM or has it made it's way into the regular Army?

I believe just SOCOM. Namely, SEALs, Rangers, etc. I may be wrong, but I am unaware of any regular units with SCARs.

Some other forum members may be able to verify this and correct if necessary. Thanks

Cool guys only, not in use by regular Army. I think the closest to regular army use was in trials for one (or more) of the half dozen M4 replacement trials and by the Asymmetric Warfare Group during the selection of a new camo pattern for Afghanistan back in 2009 or so.

It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.

Lots of the 75th guys I come in contact have used the 17 downrange. It really depends where they are going; CONUS they seem to train exclusively with M4 pattern rifles.

75th is under the SOCOM umbrella.
