    Cans for pistols advice, etc

There's a few good threads RE, can's for the AR, but wanted to ping on pistols specifically. I finally added a threaded barrel to my VP9 now that I'm in a state it's legal, so looking for intel on a can for that and was not sure if that differed in advice for brands, set up, etc. Some preferred brand and set ups before I take next step to pay the gubment the "honor" of making a pistol quieter? VP9 seems to get high marks in terms of its playing well with a can reliability wise.

There are a few threads in the nfa forum.
Id be looking at dead air, aac, and griffin... even though i dont like griffin as a company, they make a great pistol silencer. Silencerco omega9k would also be at the top of the list to look at.

Do you want the quietest, or a balance of sound and length/weight?

That, and hopefully does not break the bank.

Definitely watching this! I am in the same boat and looking to suppress a pistol. May be one of my 9mm's or even a 22lr pistol.

I've had a Surefire Ryder 9ti since they first came out.

Honestly, cans on handguns are useless bullshit.

Why dat? I'm not really looking to throw $ away on worthless toys but I'd expect the can has limited use for us slow speed high drag types.

To each their own. Great value for me:
    1. Hd pistol
    2. Training gun for at night so neighbors dont complain.
    3. See #2 for Machinegun
    4. Hunting (especially small game- pistol cals or .22).

Yep, you go out and shoot it once in blue moon, no holster, no drawing and firing. Its goofy unless you are an assassin.

They are good on my MPX and MP5, I have two AAC 45, 9. The 9 is the newer modular one. Very nice can. Some people love shooting handguns with cans so YMMV.

Dead Air Ghost45. It is almost like 2 suppressors in one as you can run it short or long. I really like it because I can run it on my 45’s and below and tune it for my needs with length. It was really versatile when one could buy wipes for it and replace them yourself. AFT ruled wipes as suppressor parts and have to be installed by an FFL now. Stupid, just stupid.

You can replace the wipe as long as you destroy the old one first. You cant store spares.

The griffin rev 9 in k config is right at the sweet spot for noise/length/weight. Anything similar size should be the same. Rev9k can go shorter since its higher volume (more baffles too).

Id stay away from sub 5” 1.3” cans as all the tests ive seen were substantially louder.
