What does lagging behind Italy mean or matter we are nothing like them or even close it’s South Korea that is behind them ?

South Korea #3 close to Italy #2 in cases only has 54 deaths vs Italy’s 463 not sure locking down a country over a few deaths is warranted also South Korea is now seen a decline in new cases so two countries doing dif measures having dif outcomes Korea has stations all over checking folks etc.... also their numbers are way lower they were .6 mortality because they are testing more then the super sick again more accurate but still not tested all so they are saying that number will most likely be even lower
So let’s hope we follow Korea IF we even get to those numbers 4 countries are ahead or closer so far Germany being above us with almost 2x the confirmed but only 2 deaths

    The lockdown in Italy
work is sill going on restaurants have to close at 6 and no school or events sounds like more city to city travel and not needed so going to stores works out to eat still OK (from what they were saying) Italy has to do their own thing as it seems like they did such a poor job at first also it was said to protect the frail and weak or something to that effect since that is who is dying so was not directed to protect everyone just the old frail which is fine but let’s see what they do and if it works but a country like Italy again is not the US and we are behind Iran, France, Spain, Germany
Breaking down our 26 deaths 22 are in Wash 19 from the life care center ! 35 residents 31 tested positive so with conditions of those folks reckon that death toll will climb they really messed up somehow so besides that concentrated place we have 7 deaths in our country hardly Italy we are closer to Japan with 9 deaths then Italy with 463 climbing

Not sure how they could make it work here though and not sure they need to with just 7 deaths besides the life care center mess that tips the scales to a huge mess up but including them still no where close to Italy

Nobody knows what next week will bring of course ? Or even tomorrow

It’s also important to remember that looking only at the total number of reported cases and the total number of countries doesn’t tell the full story.

Of all the cases reported globally so far, 93% are from just four countries.

This is an uneven epidemic at the global level.

I think it would be done by state governments, of major cities only. There aren’t enough resources to lock everybody down. Maybe the Federal Govt would restrict interstate travel to commercial shipping only: no leisure trips, no meetings, no commuting. Basically only if you’re driving a semi full of supplies do you get to be on the interstate. That would be easy to enforce.

Also, POTUS is going to meet with 7 largest banks’ CEOs or their designate, on Wednesday. Something doesn’t smell right. They’re about to announce something that will crater the markets and cause a run on the banks. I really hope the “Everything Bubble” hasn’t been popped by this virus. Always said that the economic damage will hurt people worse than the coronavirus. Pray like you’ve never prayed before.

So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!

I agree with your sentiments, Mr President.

Take appropriate action. View things in context. Hysteria not required.
There are some issues with those numbers. From what I heard this morning. It would have to be confirmed but.....the test is free but the CDC is asking/demanding that all other possibilities are tested for first, to rule out. And those aren't covered by some insurance forcing people to just drop the whole test thing and just wait it out, hopefully with a positive outcome. Meanwhile they're still contagious

What are these number issues that you read this morning?

Considering the CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 34 million flu illnesses, I reckon it makes sense to first conduct a flu test when someone is suffering from flu-like symptoms before administering a corona test. First checking for the most likely cause of an ailment is how my doc does it.

In Costco yesterday. Looked normal. No one going crazy, no one wearing masks or gloves or darting around with a cart full of beans.

Some things looked a little low, like oatmeal. Water and SPAM were limited 2 per person but other canned food like tuna, chicken, salmon had no limitations. Forgot to look at the TP but don't really care about it to begin with

I’m starting to think that what we really need to do is concentrate on the elderly especially in old folks homes. Making sure those places are actually in a true quarantine with enough people and resources to truly remove the chance of the virus getting to them. This containment and quarantine on the general population is overkill it would seem, and not that efficient.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Yep. The over 60 and the preexisting condition crowds have legit concerns. That’s where attention needs to be focused.
We interrupt this programme to bring you an important news bulletin: the suspect in the Happy Times All-Girl Glee Club slaying has fled the scene and has managed to elude the police. He is armed and dangerous, and has been spotted in the West Side area, armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other...

Wife works in transportation. Walmart is paying inflated freight rates to secure trucks in an effort to keep their stores stocked.

Or....like SK, you test for the Covid-19 first to rule it out since it has the same symptoms. And that's also how you slow community transmission. Cause while they're busy looking for other things the person is going to work, going shopping, going out!

Walmart owns their own trucks and their own drivers. Unless they're outsourcing what they can't keep up with

    Makes sense.

In the bigger picture, tens of thousands of the elderly die from the flu every year. Don't remember such fuss in the past.

Surgeon General said yesterday the average age of those who have died from corona is 80. That's a year older than life expectancy in the US. What happened to universal healthcare advocates... give granny a pain pill and send her home?
