The flu, at best, absolutely sucks. It makes you feel like complete death. At worst it causes death. Now, if I told you that you could reduce your risk by half of getting that from a simple shot that you can get at any typical pharmacy you are saying it’s not worth it?

Not to mention that if you get the shot and then get the flu it shouldn’t last as long nor should it be as bad than if you didn’t get the shot. Also, think of it like this, if everyone gets the flu shot then there are far less people out there getting other people sick. This increases its true effectiveness far greater than 50%.

If you have health reasons that keep you from getting the shot that’s completely understandable, anyone else who doesn’t get it is either ignorant or purposefully obtuse. I wish people would take the flu, something that kills tens of thousands of Americans each year, a fraction as seriously as they are doing with Coronavirus.

Using “incorrect” words and language may have a negative meaning and fuel stigmatizing attitudes towards coronavirus victims, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday.

He said the “stigma” around coronavirus is “more dangerous than the virus itself.”
Yeah cause words and hurt feelings kill people now ?

When someone tells me they don’t get the flu shot and theres not a really good reason, I subconsciously deduct 30 points off their perceived IQ, which is sometimes reason enough on its own to never speak to them again.

It’s a 50% chance of preventing something that by practicing good basic hygiene I’m more than likely not going to get in the first place. It’s completely understandable if you have a compromised immune system, a child or elderly. I’m sure when I hit the elderly range, I’ll probably start getting them. I’ve went 45 years without them and I honestly can’t remember having the flu as an adult. I am also not worried about getting the Coronavirus either. I guess I just have a really good immune system and a really low IQ...

It’s not just about you, getting the flu shot reduces the chances of you infecting others like children, the elderly, or the immunocompromised. You can get the flu and not show symptoms but still pass it on to other people. If you don’t have an actual medical reason it is not only dumb, it is selfish as well.

Yeah it’s selfish, just like not getting the measles vaccine is selfish and due to selfish and/or idiotic anti-vaxxers we are now dealing with measles again in the US when it had been eradicated. Not sure how that’s trying to be woke or even a difficult concept to follow. There are people who are not able to receive vaccines due to health reasons and so it is up to those of us who can to build a strong herd immunity to reduce the chances for those people to become infected. This isn’t something that just one person can fix, it takes a collective effort.

Look, I get where you’re coming from. People are disgusting, I know this. It’s the reason I hung up my machines and quit tattooing. I realize you have to plan for the lowest common denominator, which is the vast majority of human beings. Hell, my wife works for a university an one of her coworkers just had pinkeye! There are absolutely people who need to get the flu shot. At this stage in life, I am not one of them. Much like I assume everyone is armed and potentially dangerous, I also assume they are carriers of every horrendous disease known to man. I conduct my life accordingly. The flu is very low in my list of concerns. You will undoubtedly get the flu from a grown adult that gets pinkeye before you will get it from me. Besides, if you got the shot what do you need to worry about?

Who’s getting the measles? The people vaccinated for them or other people not vaccinated for them?

You can just reread what I posted or I can spell it out again. The flu shot isnÂ’t 100%, some people canÂ’t get the flu shot, you can have the flu and not show symptoms yet pass it on. Therefore, you could infect someone without realizing it who is elderly, a child, or someone who is immunocompromised, all high risk groups, without even realizing it. There are also people with no preexisting health conditions and are young that die from the flu, there was a 30 year old in Dallas that died this year that was otherwise healthy. There is basically no downside to getting the shot but certainly are possible downsides to not getting it.

Clearly your mind is made up but there is literally no good reason for not getting it when you can even get paid to do so. They are as convenient as your local Walgreens, CVS, Target, etc which are basically everywhere. The only reason you could have is that you just donÂ’t want to, which is certainly your right but itÂ’s also a selfish choice.

Vaccines do not work 100% and some people cannot get them. Therefore, there are people at risk when there is a measles outbreak even if they had the vaccine. It is herd immunity that allowed us to eradicate measles the first time and itÂ’s morons that brought it back.
