Big brother is watching...and listening.
They obviously changed up their strat. 50 regional victories = 1 big national victory. (Not that they won’t seize the opportunity for a national gun ban if they gain total power in DC, they will)
Honestly it’s looking like the only way to stop much of this is for SCOTUS to expound upon the “firearms in common use are protected” part of the Heller decision and outright prohibit localities from banning any semi-auto firearm and the common OEM magazines that go with them.
Can someone cliff notes the 30 minute video?
New Mexico's legislators are part-timers. Right now we are in a 30 day Legislative session. The democrat majority is trying to pass a red flag law, but 30 of 33 Counties will not participate because of their 2nd Amendment Sanctuary status, and 30 of 33 County Sheriff's won't even participate in red flag enforcement. Add to that the myriad of Native American Reservations who won't even cooperate with State or County Law Enforcement and it's a giant nothing.
I've met Sheriff Tony Mace of Cibola County and he has a large Native American population from the Zuni Pueblo, and Indians out here abide by few laws anyway. The law enforcement infrastructure out here is so limited away from the cities that whatever gets passed means nothing. Last July they passed a mandatory background check for person to person sales of guns, but that is mostly ignored. All feel-good legislation.
Just for reference, New Mexico is three times the land area of the Commonwealth of Virginia and less than 25% of the population. You have on average less than 1 person per square mile here. Just before you enter my ranch, the population of the County you pass thru has a total population of 692 people, with 2,126 square miles in land area.

What has to happen to become a 2A sanctuary city? What are the hurdles ?

FYI this site has maps of a lot of States that are passing the Sanctuary status.
For example, New Mexico:

I was surprised by Oregon and Washington.

While sheriffs have their own set of issues being politicians themselves, and there are some anti-gun ones, as a whole, they have been the most reliably law enforcement officers AND politicians on the matter of gun rights as of late. I wish my state had sheriffs. Unfortunately, we only have state police and local police, neither of which can be fully trusted, at least at the command level, to defend gun rights. Plus, if a police chief or state police colonel were to tell the politicians to go f**k themselves, they get removed and replaced by the city or state. Sheriffs, on the other hand, answer directly to the people.
