    Shots fired at Mar-a-Lago

Whether directly connected to Mar-a-Lago is unclear, but it sounds connected due to bolded. I'm amazed POTUS goes there like clockwork and very predictably time wise and such. I can't imagine the security nightmare that place must be for the SS. I don't know how much sway/power the SS has with POTUS, but I have thought from day 1 (I live not far from it) that other then occasional and random visits, he should be no where near the place:

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Two people are in custody after law enforcement opened fire near President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Friday following a car chase, according to the sheriff’s office.

An SUV breached two security points outside Trump’s Palm Beach home, and law enforcement fired their weapons at the vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. It was not immediately known which agency those law enforcement officers worked for.

The Florida Highway Patrol and a PBSO helicopter chased the SUV and found it. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the shooting, PBSO said.

The incident occurred just hours before Trump is expected to arrive at his Palm Beach mansion and club.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies turned away all eastbound traffic at Southern Boulevard and South Olive Avenue, just before the bridge to Palm Beach.

Palm Beach police already had shut down traffic at the Mar-a-Lago checkpoint at South County Road.

About 10 law enforcement officers from different agencies were seen near Mar-a-Lago around noon. At least three sheriff’s deputies wore “homicide” vests on site.

The articles are a little unclear on timing. Was the pursuit started before the checkpoints and they fired after the driver broke through? Or were they in pursuit and fired because the driver broke through?

I.E. was it started before over something unconnected?

Per above, it's unclear at this time. All being sorted out now, but as they fired at the vehicle, a serious event.

Breaking through a checkpoint going to a POTUS residence tends to get one shot at.

When he gets reelected, I think you are going to see a whole new security paradigm as people (liberals) will start getting desperate. Desperate people will do stupid things.

Sounds like someone in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Maybe a contractor that finally got tired of not being paid.

Jokes aside. I am actually surprised at the restraint of the response. Even with him not there if you bust through a checkpoint like that to a presidential residence I would expect the car to be a twisted smoldering pile of junk by the end.

Several Officers fired at the car, so I would like to see some pictures of the bullet riddled vehicle.

I knew a plumber who did some work for him back in the day and said Trump was a tough negotiator on the project but he got paid. I also knew a doorman for a building he owned, and he said he was great to everyone there. As with everything about the guy, it seems we get very divergent opinions and experiences with him. I suspect the truth falls somewhere in the middle.

Level of bullets and perhaps LAW rockets used no doubt depends on just how close they got and which security check point they went through. "Rumor" has it SS has at least one of these badboys in their convoys and such:

A coworker of mine says that when he was working in one of his buildings that Trump came up to him and personally asked him how he was doing and seemed pretty sincere about it. He says he will never forget that.
