XM 177 E2 vs SP1 carbine at the range

A few weeks ago I took both oldies at the 50 m indoor range for a quick informal shooting comparison

    XM

    Rested

    Standing

    SP1

    Rested

    Standing

Well it’s almost a toss up, the SP1 is marginally more accurate with its longer barrel (16’’ vs 11.5’’).

Also dumped a few mags with my 1942 Colt 1911 A1, rapid fire, very close range (7m)

    And some 25 m pratice with a snubby S&W 686 in .357 Mag

    Thumbs up

Looks like you had a lot of fun.

Also looks like the type of range day that I need to have also especially with my Hi-Power and my revolver.

I see a 3rd pin on both lowers there. I didn’t know the SP1 came in FA. For the XM177, is that the original moderator (the one that provides a smidge of sound suppression)?

The SP1 was probably worked on by the previous owner, here’s the thread
