77 gr bullet for use in SBR and “SPR”

    Need some help with this.

I’ve got some IMI razor core 77gr, which I have not had a bad experience with.
However, are there better (based on potential accuracy and cost) options out there?

My limited stash was Black Hills TMK, but at cost, it’s 40% or so pricier than the IMI option. So started to accumulate a little IMI. Based on some reading, it seems like Magtech May have been even better, but they are not available.

I always qualify by my abilities. I’m still an intermediate shooter, not even close to expert.

For SBR I would look for 75 gr GDSP, expensive but a very good load, for SPR any of the 77 gr loads that shoots good in your rifle for longer ranges.

    Home defense with the SBR
Target at a shorter range (currently) with both the SBR and a couple 16” uppers.

Part of my thought was really to consolidate on one type of ammo that is generally good at both uses, understanding it will necessarily be a compromise in some areas.

Zero hunting, unless the end of the world happens.

I’ve got Wolf Gold or AE 223 for classes, etc.

Any experience or observations of the Gold Dot 75gr for a target/accuracy standpoint?

Are you reloading or just buying factory ammo?
If reloading you have more options and can taylor make a load. But for Home Defense, it may be wise to use factory ammo.

In my experience the Gold dot runs about 1" at 100 and ballistics are not as good at distance but at realistic SBR ranges it is an excellent load IMO.
